What it does

Start a prompt with _ and that turn runs on Haiku, along with any subagents it starts. Other prompts keep the session's model.

How it works

  1. Lights up the _ as you type, and the line under the prompt says it runs on Haiku.
  2. On send, removes the _ and sends every request of that turn to claude-haiku-5-5.
  3. Subagents the Haiku turn starts run on Haiku too, even after the turn ends.
  4. Names the model that answered in a line under the reply, or warns if another one did.

Good to know

  • Needs Claude Code 2.1.289 or newer.
  • Only an idle prompt starting with a single _ counts. A prompt sent mid-turn keeps the current model.
  • Adds a note you don't see to the prompt, telling the model it is Haiku, so it answers Haiku if asked.
