Token Weather in Claude Desktop

What it does

A one-line weather forecast for your context window above the prompt: an icon and word for how full it is, the tokens used, and a chart of recent turns.

How it works

  1. Takes a first reading when a session starts, so the band shows before the first turn
  2. After each main-loop turn, reads the context tokens and window from the session usage
  3. Turns the fill into a forecast, from Clear under 25% to Compact soon at 90% and up
  4. Draws one line: percentage, tokens used of the window and a chart of the last 12 turns

Good to know

  • Measures against the full window, so it can read lower than Claude Code's auto-compact notice.
  • Updates once per turn, not during a turn, and its history resets when a session starts.
  • Another plugin that draws above the prompt competes for the same band.
